Sorry I've been slacking off on my posts but I'm always available on Twitter if you are interested. Also this WIPs & News section of the site is based on Blogger and since Google has decided to disable FTP support for Blogger this section may be changing soon as I'm looking at installing Word Press if I can figure out how to do that and move all of my posts to it.

Here's the latest on this character. I replaced the lacing on her pant legs, replaced her head, and added wrinkles for her gloves.

Garan the Archer

For the past two days I've been working on a character inspired by someone I saw in a Stargate SG-1 episode, only my model will be cooler. lol This character will be holding a crossbow in each hand. I'm almost finished with the basics for the clothing, then it'll be time to start adding more detail. Of course she will have a full face too, I will separate the head and hands to give them a higher resolution without touching the rest.

I've been working on this sculpture on and off for the past couple of days. I started from a sphere.

I find it hilarious when I keep seeing people "sculpting" with a pile of sausages in zbrush 3.5 and raving "I love this program!". The entire time I was working on this it looked like I was working with clay, not sausages.

I am continuously amazed at the production of 3D Coat. We get a new update pretty much once a week. Often I'll request a feature and have it within a couple of days or even less! My latest project was 90% done in 3DC. Final renders will be posted here shortly.

A short tutorial

I made a short LightWave tutorial. It's something simple, but may confuse new users. Making sharp corners that blend to a smooth curve using sub-patches. The audio is a little loud, so watch your volume.
