Not a win, but not bad either

Well I (think) I didn't win the Big Ben modeling challenge, but I did start 9 or 10 days into the 14 day challeneg. and hey I got myself nominated and quite a few people voted for me, not bad for a couple of days work.

Big Ben

CGTalk has a Hardcore Modeling Challenge going on with the subject being Big Ben. There are several catagories depending on how much you want to do. I discovered the HMC a little late, so I decided to just stick with a clock face. Voting is less than 24hrs away, and I've done my best with the time I had, we'll see what happens!

Lightwave 9

When Lightwave 9 became available for pre-order I paid for it right away. It still hasn't been released yet, but I can finally now say that I've been beta testing it since February. In fact most of the work done on that WWII plane below was done in LW9. That plane, by the way, is now finished and animated on my general reel if you'd like to check it out. LW9's new feature list is huge and I've barely scratched the surface. Some of the coolest new features are the nodal texturing, Adaptive Pixel Subdivision (APS) and the render speeds have increased dramatically. Last night I started a new model, just to play around with some of the new features. Here it is.
